Dermal fillers are small injections of gel typically made up of hyaluronic acid, that fill in wrinkles and add volume to soft tissue. Fillers restore lost volume to your face and plump the skin. As we get older our bodies stop producing collagen and elastin. After the age of 25 our collagen and elastin levels decline at a rate of 2% a year.
Typically, fillers last 6-12 months. Temporary side effects can include swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness.
Dr Tara will minimise any discomfort with the use of anaesthetic cream and a dental block to completely numb the area if required. PCL (Poly-Caprolactone or Ellanse is another popular filler that acts as a collagen stimulator. Ellanse triggers the body’s natural response to produce collagen.
